For the second day in Yosemite National Park, we decided to go to the other side of the valley and walk up the steep path next to Yosemite Falls to then reach Yosemite Point.
For this hike it is a good thing to start early, as the sun heats the environment relentlessly during the day and can turn the actually beautiful nature trail into real agony as the path is very steep and strenuous, plus the last 20-30 minutes are completely out of the woods and you have no chance to hide in the shade.
This hike should be done by everyone who visits this national park and is fit enough to do it. The Yosemite Falls are simply impressive (more than all the upper one of course) and they really are breathtakingly beautiful as they fall towards you.
On top of the waterfall there is an extra platform to which you can walk down (if you are not afraid of heights), I would recommend to go there to everyone who has made it up to here.
Once you get to the high plateau of Upper Yosemite Falls, the way to Yosemite Point is not far (30 min).
As with other "points" in this region, this is not a real mountain top, but a marking point of the government which became known through it. In any case, I think that this belongs in this collection of mine, the route in the link below speaks for itself. Beautiful hike!
Are you in good shape? Do you have time? Up with you to Upper Yosemite Falls (don't forget to take something to eat and enough to drink).
