Third peak of our three-peak/point hike today (Glacier Point-Sentinel Dome-Taft Point).
Aaaand the 3rd mountain in the United States! Actually it's not correct to refer to it as a mountain, because in the Yosemite national park this is a flexible term.
It is more like a viewpoint on a high plateau, but you have to walk up or at least to it. Although it is not a "real" mountain, as already mentioned, I decided to add it to my list because it was simply incredible and because we had organized a hike of several hours to reach it, theoretically you could get much closer to it by car though. Just for you to know, I'm not counting all of them in..in fact, we also visited Roosevelt Point on this same hike when walking back to the car, which in my eyes wasn't this special (even if the view is great there too) and in my opinion did not have the attributes to end up in this list.
The pictures below speak for themselves, I would recommend everyone who is in Yosemite and has mountain boots to reach this point...actually no, not everyone should go here. If you are afraid of heights or are not a champ when it comes to a sure footedness, avoid it. The danger of falling is huge and death is a sure thing if it happens.
Cool was also that this was Katrin's hundredth peak... there couldn't have been a better one for this anniversary, I think I'll never forget the adrenaline from sitting up there :-).
PS: The fact that Katrin is pregnant with our firstborn makes it a bit rowdier (..)
Level: T3- to walk to it. Highest of all possible levels when standing on the edge though, it's just super exposed!
