This was the first peak of today’s hike (Schenadüi - Pizzo Corandoni).
The Snow is melting, the bigger mountains are ready to be taken on again.
First mountains higher than 2'500 meters this summer, and we couldn't have chosen a better tour for that.
Schenadüi is not your typical mountain, in fact there is no path at all (starting from p.2229 meters) and even online I only could only find 4-5 people talking about it.
Therefore, we knew there was a good chance that we wouldn't meet anybody (at least humans..there were some chamois and also some big fat marmots) on the two peaks.
The peak is listed at page 212 of the 3rd Book of the CAS Guides about the Ticino-Region (Dal Passo del San Gottardo al Pizzo di Claro) and the paths we walked up from Passo del Lucomagno were nr 194 (to the small dam shown in the first picture at p.2229m) and then nr. 271 explained in the same book.
Nice peak with amazing views of the Piora and Cadlimo Valley + some 3000 meters peaks which are around int that area.
Pretty easy to reach from this side, at least until you're 150 meters below the summit.
From there, you've got 2-3 different options: either going straight up with a little climbing involved through a very steep and narrow valley or walk around the peak to the western side and walk up from there. As you can see below in picture 8 and 10 we chose the first option, never scary but still challenging.
There also is another option coming from the east but for what I understood from the guide, there is some serious and totally exposed climbing involved.
