Second and highest one of today's 4 peaks hike (Motto d'Arbino - Sasso Guidà - Motto della Conca - Motto della Croce).
This peak is listed in the guides of the Swiss Alpine Club (vol 5, Guida delle prealpi ticinesi) at page 201 and we reached it following path nr 122 on the ridge coming from Motto d'Arbino. The official height on all maps is 1713 meters but as the sign for some reason is 10 meters underneath the top, the height which is shown is wrong (second picture).
The view from up here was completely new to us as we've never been in this valley and neither on this side of Ticino before. Even if the peak is by far not the highest around here, the ridge on which it rises up is really steep on one side (towards Valle Morobbia) which gives an amazing 360 degrees view of the surroundings... picture nr. 3 says it all.
What Picture 3 also tells ( + 1, 6 and 14), is that there was a massive fire on the Italian side between Passo San Jorio and the Monte Albano.
The whole time we were up on the top (on our lunch break) we had helicopters flying over our heads with some water to drop over the flames.
I can only recommend this peak also for a "single-peak" hike as it's really worth it.
An impressive view and an impressive situation in which we ended up with that fire.. which made us understand once again how small we actually are as humans towards the powers of nature...and yes I know this phrase is overused..
