Fifth Peak (out of 7) on our big traverse up to Punta Negra. The highest, before the 2 big players come into the game :-)
Traverse: (Föisc-Pian Alto-Camoghé-Pizzo Tom-Pizzo Stabbiello-Poncioni Negri-Punta Negra).
We chose the easier way up (from North) as the day before it had rained and the wet grass was really dangerous. The southern way up is really exposed
(at least T4+) and as we tried it, I slipped and slided down 5 meters on my ass.
Therefore, we walked around this peak on the south-western side and then followed path 254 explained in the official guides of the CAS (Swiss Alpine Club), page 206 of the 3rd volume (Guida delle alpi ticinesi, dal Passo San Gottardo al Pizzo di Claro).
The northern face of the mountain is not as exposed and steep and was a pleasant hike although all of a sudden it got really windy.
I'm planning to try path 253 next time i'm doing this mountain hoping that the ground will be drier...and I might bring better shoes also :-)
