40th summit in Ticino.
First and also highest peak of today's 3 summit hike (Monte Bigorio, Matro di Stinchè, Cima di Lago).
We started the day from Sciss di Fuori and walked up the mountain through the beautiful little village of Condra, following path number 280 explained on page 271 of the 5th CAS Volume about the region of Ticino (Guida alle prealpi ticinesi).
It's an easy hike of more or less an hour to the top and was a perfect option for a day in March where the bigger mountains are still covered in snow and the slopes were in the rain with slushy snow.
The views you get on top are surprisingly good, even if this peak is really small (16th-smallest in Ticino if my researches are correct) as you get an interesting picture of Lugano's surroundings as you find yourself between the Monte Bar and the Monte Tamaro massive, with Lugano and the lake completely on display.
If you are in Lugano and want to have a quick nature getaway with a view, the Monte Bigorio is the place to go.
Be aware that the highest point of this mountain is not where you have the best view but 500 meters behind, of course we went up there too... but on another (and sunnier) day as i forgot this "small" fact the first time :-).
