Monte Bar (CH) - 1 816 meters

Nr 76

We had la long weekend in front of us (bank holiday on Monday) but unfortunately the weather predictions weren’t promising at all. The only day which seemed to be suitable for a walk in the mountains was saturday and we used it to finally hike up two peaks that have been on my list since a long time.

This was the last, most famous and highest one of today's three peak hike (Motto della Croce - Caval Drossa - Monte Bar).

It was our big ending for the day and definitely worth it.

I would say that around people which like to be in the mountains in the weekends, this one is probably the most visited (also because of the big hut just underneath the top of the mountain and the street which allows to reach it also by bike).

We walked up following path 264 which comes up from Caval Drossa and basically is a big ridge which breathtaking views (almost at the same level as from the peak as can be seen in the last picture) which is explained at page 260 of the 5t volume of the CAS (Club Alpino Svizzero). The peak itself is listed at page 259. Nothing difficult though, just a walk :-)
