Camusio (CH) - 1 650 meters

Nr 59

First one of todays 10 peaks hike (Camusio-Cima Torrione-Motto Rotondo-Monte Gradiccioli-Monte Pola-Sasso della Gallina-Monte Magno-Monte Magino-Zottone-Poncione di Breno).

On this sunny easter Sunday we decided to do the famous Tamaro-Lema traverse with a twist in order to reach as many new peaks as possible. To start off, we walked down to Alpe Duragno in order to hike a new ridge (Path 711 at page 456 in the official guides of the Swiss Alpine Club, vol 5. Guida delle prealpi ticinesi). The result was amazing and will probably from now on be our standard way to walk up Monte Tamaro.

Fun fact of the day: we didn't reach neither Monte Tamaro nor Monte Lema today as the goal was to hike new peaks located between the two main mountains of this big ridge.

To reach the Camusio we started from Alpe Foppa and followed path 714 explained on page 459 in the official guides of the Swiss Alpine Club (Vol 5. Guida delle prealpi ticinesi).

On top of this mountain there is an antenna instead of the usual stonepile/cross. The walk up to it is one of the most beautiful we've had so far and I can strongly recommend this peak (as a start for the Monte Tamaro or as single peak to easily get a great view).

Level: T2+ (most of it is on a clear path).
