10th summit in Ticino.
Third Peak (out of 7) on our big traverse up to Punta Negra.
Traverse: (Föisc-Pian
Alto-Camoghè-Pizzo Tom-Pizzo
Stabbiello-Poncioni Negri-Punta Negra).
Amazing views as in all of the Piora Valley.
Pretty steep summit, completely off path. We chose to hike up on the northern Side because the south-western ridge appeared to be really slippery due to long humid
grass clumps which were located in the steepest places (fourth pic is our route up), I'd say that the ascend from South would be a T4+ if not even more, but as it rained the day before it just
seemed too risky.
Coming from Pian Alto,
we walked around this peak on the south-eastern side and then followed the path 244 (from Bocchetta del Camoghé) explained in the official guides
of the CAS (Swiss Alpine Club), page 202 of the 3rd volume (Guida delle alpi ticinesi, dal Passo San Gottardo al Pizzo di Claro).
It's a nice peak also for a day-hike, for example starting from Lago di Tom.
